ABS copolymers Novodur® / Lustran® ABS Absolac®
Distinguishing Features:
Inherent colour Opaque
Colour range Comprehensive range
Surface finish Glossy to high glossy; good reproducibility, special grade with reduced gloss
Dust attraction Very low susceptibility to dust attraction (for antistatic grades)
Rigidity Tensile modulus: 1500 to 2700 MPa, with GF reinforcement: 5500 MPa
Shock and fracture
resistance
Very good; low temperature resistance to -40 °C
Chemical resistance Resistant to a large number of chemicals
Heat resistance Heat resistance 80 bis 105 °C for the actual moulded parts (depending on the grade); VST/B 50: 94 to 113 °C
Dimensional accuracy
and stability
High, thanks to the amorphous structure; low shrinkage independent of orientation, hence a much lower susceptibility to warpage than comparable semi-crystalline products
Electrical insulation Good; dielectric strength: 24 to 36 kV/mm; volume resistivity: 1014 to 1016 Ohm • cm Tracking, CTI: grade > 600 for non colored grades
Further properties Good flowability; grades authorised for food contact; suitable for chemical electroplating, spezial grades for medical applications
